Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and Mammogram Voucher Programs at Adagio Health

October 31, 2022 by Adagio Health
[Reposted from October 2021] As of March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us all in ways we never could have imagined. Many people have lost jobs and medical insurance, leaving thousands with no healthcare coverage and inability to receive breast cancer screenings. Here at Adagio Health, we can help you through our Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP) or Mammogram Voucher Program (MVP). Through these programs, eligible women and men can receive free breast screenings and diagnostic testing. We have increased our efforts to ensure women and men are receiving breast and cervical cancer screenings by utilizing our call center and providing telehealth appointments for program enrollment.

First mammogram and not sure what do or expect?

Getting your first mammogram can be stressful and nerve-wracking. Learning more about what to expect can help with those nerves. You will want to wear two-piece comfortable clothing. No lotion, deodorant or perfume near or on the breast. Mammograms typically take 30 minutes to complete. Each breast will be compressed for approximately 20-30 seconds. The compression can be uncomfortable, but it is important because it allows the breast tissue to spread and flatten for a clear view. If you have any questions or concerns you can call our call center at 800-215-7494 or make an appointment at an Adagio Health near you to speak with a nurse practitioner.
