Pittsburgh, Pa. (January 4, 2019) – Residents of West Virginia now have greater access to family planning and reproductive health services, as Adagio Health expands its operations, becoming the only family planning service provider to currently offer care in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Adagio Health is partnering with Clay-Battelle Health Services Association and Cornerstone Care Community Health Centers, along with offering services at two nearby Adagio Health offices. The goal is increased access to healthcare for women and men in seven West Virginia counties: Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio, Preston and Wetzel.
“Adagio Health is here to ensure women and men receive the care they need when they need it,” said BJ Leber, president and CEO of Adagio Health. “We’ve provided health and wellness services in Pennsylvania for more than 45 years, and we’re proud to have the opportunity to work with Clay-Battelle and Cornerstone Care to expand our resources and provide the residents of West Virginia additional access to safe, confidential family planning care.”
In addition to routine gynecological care, breast and cervical cancer screenings, birth control, and pregnancy testing, Adagio Health also provides confidential sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and treatment. Insurance is not needed to schedule an appointment.
“As a physician assistant, I know the importance of family planning and reproductive health care. I think many women in West Virginia aren’t sure where to go to find access to these services – especially without insurance,” said Megan Moore Curry, PA-C from Clay-Battelle Health Services Association. “This partnership will be a game-changer for a lot of women, knowing they have a safe place to turn.”
“Cornerstone Care serves many patients from West Virginia. Family planning has long been an important part of our healthcare services; the need is very clear,” said Rich Rinehart, CEO of Cornerstone Care. “We provide access to a range of primary care for everyone regardless of financial or other barriers. We’re proud to be a partner. I can’t think of a better way to expand healthcare for West Virginia residents.”
