Adagio Health has been providing healthcare services to women in western PA for over 50 years. We are also committed to providing military and veteran-competent services, and we are certified as a Veteran Ready Healthcare Provider by PsychArmor.

Annually, Adagio Health serves approximately 1,100 veterans in western PA. In addition to specialized care navigation, counseling, and support for women veterans; we offer: Family PlanningBirth ControlSTI Testing & TreatmentGynecological CareBreast and Cervical Cancer Screening and Treatment ProgramsWIC Nutrition BenefitsTobacco and Nicotine Cessation Services and an extensive menu of Adult Health Care Basics including screenings, adult immunizations, and more. We understand that for many reasons, including past trauma, the women veterans we serve often prefer providers who focus on women, and many do not qualify for medical benefits under VA guidelines. Adagio Health provides safe, compassionate, trauma-informed care to all women who have served in the military, regardless of discharge status, length of service, or other documentation. Our goal is to make our region’s unique and diverse population of women veterans feel welcome in our offices. Most insurance is accepted, including TRICARE, and many of our services are available at no cost regardless of insurance.

A list of all of our medical offices including location and phone numbers can be found at Adagio Health Medical Offices.

In 2023, Adagio Health and RAND Corporation released a Women Veterans Needs Assessment – a first-of-its-kind report that analyzed national and regional surveys to gain greater insight on the challenges of women veterans in western PA. A key finding from the report revealed that women veterans are often underserved and a "forgotten" population in the healthcare system. With this report, Adagio Health can review services and implement new programs so that women veterans receive the crucial support they need. For more information on the report, and our different services and programs for women veterans, click on the links below.

Care Navigation is also available for our patients who have served in the military and may be experiencing challenges in their lives that impact their health, wellbeing, or safety. Care Navigation can make a difference in health outcomes. It improves access to community resources and relieves the pressure on patients to navigate service organizations and health care systems on their own.

Adagio Health has certified trainers in Veteran Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), an evidence-based training for veteran service organizations (VSO) groups of women veterans and community members. The goal is to equip participants with the skills needed to recognize signs and symptoms of behavioral health challenges so they can connect veterans to appropriate services before adverse situations escalate to crises.

If your organization or group is interested in receiving Veteran MHFA training, please reach out to veterans@adagiohealth.org for more information.
In 2022, Adagio Health commissioned the RAND Corporation to complete a needs assessment of women veterans in western PA, with a full report of the findings published in March 2023.
Alongside the report release, Adagio Health hosted "Invisible No More" at the Senator John Heinz History Center, an event to raise awareness of the needs assessment findings and to celebrate and support women veterans. Speakers included Adagio Health President & CEO BJ Leber; Yvonne Cook, President of the Highmark Foundation; and Carrie Farmer from RAND. Closing remarks were made from Brigadier General (PA) Maureen Weigl, Deputy Adjutant General for Veterans Affairs from PA’s Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
